The VRV Introductory session held by Daikin was definitely eye-opening, from presentations on the functionality, advantages, features and overview on the VRV system to in-person demonstrations in their showroom on their refined technology on gas tight joints (a non-brazed connection for refrigerant piping), AAF air filtration, AHU operations, centralised controls and lastly, a breakdown of data on inverter vs non-inverter systems. Overall, the 3 hour session showcased the sophisticated process in installing a VRV system. 

The latest VRV model series (VRV X/A Series) was highlighted.

Some features on the latest VRV X/A Series:

• Energy Efficiency: VRV systems utilise inverter technology, resulting in higher energy efficiency. 
• Upgrade in Hardware & Software: 
  • Hardware: Uses new scroll technology that reduces pressure backflow 
  • Software: VRT Smart Control - This feature greatly improves energy efficiency as this feature automatically adjusts gas temperature from the feedback it receives from the indoor VRV units.  
• Automatic Refrigerant Charge Function:
  • Automatically determines optimal gas to charge
  • Reduces Insufficient & Excessive Gas Charge 
• Stand-By Power: Compressor heating is on when temperature dips a certain temperature, ensuring that the oil is pre-heated before aircond is switched on
• Improved Anti-Corrosion:
  • Introduction of an improved anti-corrosion outdoor casing (more resistance to salt in the air), suitable for installation done at higher salt concentration areas, e.g. seaside resorts.
